  1. In My Backyard, Neighbourhood Nature Play

Our nature play pilot program aims to connect families with young children (birth - 5 years) with opportunities to engage in family-based nature play in their local area. We help families to discover new places to play and hidden nature spots in and close to their suburb. Join us in exploring nature play in your local area and connect with other families interested in sharing in outdoor play with their kids. Activities include: nature crafting, child-led exploration, nature walks, outside story time, and nature inspired yoga stretches. See Events on Facebook for more details of dates and locations -
  2. Outdoor Parties with Nature

Children's birthdays just come once a year and why bore them with the usual indoor parties. Why not make it more nature based and more adventurous. Its their big day, they deserve to be spoilt with the wild alternatives. Why not start planning creative outdoor childrens parties? Parties that will make memories with sustainable messages & engage kids with nature. We have brought together everything for all those busy parents out there to make that special day extra special for your child. Now let’s see what we can do differently to celebrate that special day... Step 1 : Selecting a venue - Your own backyard or a unique nature space. Step 2: Choose a party theme your child loves. Step 3 : Choose a party package. All party packages include distinct outdoor party pop-up stalls Step 4: Creating memories with a message Contact us via email or visit our facebook page (via website link) and Instagram (@lilseedsco) to see our unique themes and packages. Birthday parties can always be fun when there are sustainable alternatives. Lets start planning our birthday parties with less impact to mother nature. “From little seeds grow mighty trees!” Lil' Seeds Co Family

  5. Orienteering ACT

Orienteering ACT provides fun, safe navigation activities, for children and their families, in Canberra and surrounds. Come along and enjoy outdoor events suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. Embrace the challenge of getting out in nature and finding your way using a map. Can you find all the checkpoints?
  6. ACT Rogaining Association

The ACT rogaining association holds about eight events each year. They are definitely suitable for children accompanied by adults. Our events combine opportunities for getting out in the bush with using maps. Rogaining is like a treasure hunt - you look for coloured checkpoints throughout the bush. We organise a number of events specifically designed for less experienced navigators, although all events are suitable. You take a walk (or run) at entirely your own pace.
  7. Sticks and Stones Nature Playgroup

We enjoy being outdoors - playing, exploring and imagining - and want to see lots of families with young kids getting outdoors and being active too. Whether you’re the ‘outdoors type’, new to nature play or simply want to connect with other families in a fun and relaxed environment - you’re welcome to join us. We value mud and water play, neighbourhood play, using real tools and equipment, being curious about nature and children building their independence and resilience through child-directed play. Please visit our Facebook page (via website link) for more information and upcoming sessions/events.
  8. Canberra Bushwalking Club

The Canberra Bushwalking Club offers activities for families, in addition to activities for adults. The activities include - PRAMBulations for parents or grandparents with kids in strollers - Explorer walk for families with 3 to 6 year olds - Adventure walks for families with older kids Plus some of our easier walks are suitable for baby-wearing parents.
